" This exhibition means an enourmous amount because it is largest exhibition I've ever had, 11 rooms in the Fondation Louis Vuitton . Some of the very last paintings I'm working on will not be included in it, and I think it's going to be very good"
David Hockney
In the Spring of 2025, the Fondation Louis Vuitton is inviting David Hockney, one of the most influential artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, to take over the entire building for an exhibition that will be exceptional in its scale and its originality.

"In my father's time, we lived with his daily drama, which was painting."*
*Marguerite Duthuit-Matisse, 1970
The Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris is staging a groundbreaking exhibition of works by Henri Matisse (1869-1954), one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. Bringing together more than 110 works – paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures and ceramics – the exhibition shows Matisse's view of his eldest daughter, Marguerite Duthuit-Matisse (1894–1982), an essential but discreet figure in his family circle.

"ENDLESS SUNDAY"
Februrary 2, 2027
Curators; Open invitation to Maurizio Cattelan, Chiara Parisi
The Endless Sunday is part of this dynamic, offering an immersion in the collection through a multitude of different media, including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, installation, video and film, in an unprecedented dialogue with the world of Maurizio Cattelan. The layout plays on forms and cycles. Echoing the hexagonal architecture of Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, the exhibition is organised around a circular flow in the Grande Nef and concentric circles in the Galerie 1, punctuated with straight lines that structure the visitor experience. It spreads across several levels, offering a journey through the history of art and its upheavals.

FELIX VALLOTTON,
"ILLUSIONS PERDUES"
Until September 7

The exhibition title Illusions perdues (Lost Illusions) was inspired by one of the most famous works of nineteenth-century literature, the three-part novel by Honoré de Balzac that was part of his comprehensive series Comédie humaine. Like Balzac, Vallotton’s art is a precisely observed and trenchantly observed portrayal of society. The exhibition can be seen at two locations of the Kunst Museum Winterthur. The main part of Illusions perdues with paintings and drawings is on display at Reinhart am Stadtgarten, whereas the wood prints and flower still lifes are on show at Villa Flora.

"UNE CONVERSATION SANS MOTS" COLLECTION
THIERRY BARBIER- MULLER,
June 27-Octobre 26
Curators; Nathalie Chaix et Margaux Farron, Zoe Barbier- Muller, Charlotte Savolainen-Mailler
"The great French playwright decreed that collectors could be divided into two categories. There are window collectors who need to show off their objects, and wardrobe collectors who hide theirs. I certainly belong to the second category, not out of egoism but because to me the act of collecting is something intimate, something that requires a certain calm, a certain silence in order to exist."

In spring 2025, the Fondation de l'Hermitage, Lausanne, Switzerland, hosts a particuarly unusual collection of impressionnist and post-impressionist masterpieces from the Petit Palais, Geneva.Oscar Ghez was a man of action, passionate and social, who put a great deal of energy into developing a collection of fine art, which he shared with the public in his museum "Petit Palais de Genève" in Switzerland, as well as in external exhibitions in New York, Moscow, Tokyo and Tel Aviv. Ghez also purchased many paintings by women, including Nathalie Kraemer, Tamara de Lempicka and Suzanne Valadon, long before their work began to be studied and finally received the recognition it deserved.

Sophie Thun, Wet Rooms, Musee des Beaux-Arts Lausanne (Photography copyright, Nazli Kok Photography 2024. All rights reserved)
Wet Rooms, refers to the darkroom in which the artist develops her photographs. She works exclusively with analogue photography, pushing the limits of its technical possibilities by creating 1:1 prints. An intimate space, marked by the presence of chemical baths essential to the unveiling of the image, it is also a space of solitude and silence in which the artist reconstructs her vision of the world.
When working on her large-format photos, she uses magnets to hold the paper aganist the metal wall in the dark-room. This surface frequently appears in her images.

BOURSE DE COMMERCE ,
Pinault Collection, Paris, France,
"CORPS & AMES" (Body and Soul),
Until August 25
In this exhibition, Body & Soul, the first paradox or advent is to make visible what we have tried to make invisible; the exhibition gives pride of place to African and Afro-American artists who have long been rejected by the dominant presentation, civil rights fighters, jazzed up bodies liberating themselves from the underground.
what does it mean to inhabit a body in a world in tension?
Arthur Jafa's "Love is the Message, the Message is Death", a very moving film with some scenes that are truly shocking to see the wickedness of human beings.Jafa traces the history of African Americans in the twentieth century through a collage of images, both older and more recent, depicting a collective body that exists beyond space and time.
