The spring art sales in New York have always served as an indicator of the state of the art market .  Despite ongoing  economic uncertainty, the questions remains as :  Whether collectors will be willing to purchase ?   Should auction houses put the estimated sale prices more carefully and without inflating them? The role of guaranteed sales and third parties will be called into question in the near future. It is important to consider how this will affect the operations of auction houses, consignors and buyers in the art market.
